Telecom Engineer is responsible for the engineering oversight, supervision, and technical assurance of telecommunications systems installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning across the EACOP project. Working under the Telecom Commissioning Superintendent and in coordination with the Telecom Supervisor, the engineer ensures that telecom systems are installed, integrated, and tested in accordance with EACOP specifications, international standards, and project safety requirements. This role covers both field and control-room-based works, ensuring correct configuration, system-level testing, and documentation for handover to operations.

Requirements
Strong understanding of telecom systems design, installation, and commissioning in oil & gas environments.
Proficiency in fiber optic systems, structured cabling, network configuration, and telecom device integration.
Professional registration preferred (e.g., ERB in Tanzania, IEEE/IEE).
Degree in Telecommunications / Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
Skilled in using telecom test tools: OTDR, fusion splicer, multimeters, continuity testers, analyzers.
Knowledge of relevant standards: IEC, ITU-T, TIA/EIA, NFPA, IEC 62443 (cybersecurity).
Others/Extra Details
Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in telecom installation and commissioning on oil & gas, pipeline, or large
infrastructure projects.
Proven track record in leading field teams and coordinating telecom installation and testing.
Experience in multi-disciplinary environments (interfaces with electrical, instrumentation, IT).
